I'm really going to miss this class. I feel like I actually learned a lot of good, relevant information that I'll be able to keep in mind in the future. I liked how we were able to discuss a whole range of topics that pertained to our lives as aspiring writers and our hopeful futures as writers, teachers, or publishers.
I have learned a lot of good stuff in this class. I now officially know the difference between an MA and an MFA and I have actually decided that I'd like to get my MFA sometime in the future -- probably after I'm out of school and working for a few years. That prospect makes me really excited (unlike most people my age I really like going to school and the types of classes offered for an MFA sound really intriguing. Also, I want to get as high a degree as possible so I can hold it over my brother and sister (and both my parents, come to think of it. I shall be the most educated person in my immediate family mwa ha ha)). I'm also planning on increasing my online presence - which means I should probably stop tweeting nonsense about gory horror films and obscure musicians but I don't think that's gonna happen any time soon. But this class also helped to give me the final push I needed to suggest starting a vlog to my best friend which, we're hoping, will help boost our online presence and "put us out there."
Whenever family or friends ask what I'm majoring in, I always get a little embarrassed when I admit "writing arts" or "creative writing" or when I explain that I want to become a writer. I usually self-handicap by explaining that I'm hoping to go into publishing and become an editor. But after this class -- after the articles we read and the discussions we had and hearing Professor Mangini the First speak -- I think I'll be more confident in my answer.
